It has been a while since ive been here, out n about taking photo's , the xmas holidays .school holidays and lots of friends coming to stay hasn't allowed for much if any studio time...have started a work, which is in progress at the moment..it is actually a christmas present (said i was a little behind) for a special friend........

you just got to love these old classics..coming home from town this morning, pushing me all the way..mind you, this car cruises happily on 100km/h, was one of the new holden commoodore's...impatient bastard..like to see his lump of plastic still on the road in 47 years...yes..im having a bad day, spilt my wax everywhere, phone won't stop ring...etc..you know the drill....start afresh tomorrow i think....

Have spent the morning getting some photo's sorted, as ive been asked to put local photo's in our 1 shop that we have in our town,and the local tourist information centre...im definetly not a computer person..been a good day to be inside , as the weather is insane, 1st week of December and ive got the open fire on...it's crazy..feels more like Autumn...

where ever i go even if it is to town to get milk or whatever, i take my camera with me, i find the photo's are an invaluable source for inspiration..as i generally am around these images or others ive posted on a daily basis, yet once a pic has been taken it takes them out of context and they somehow seem surreal to me... so take your camera with you even if it is a simple trip somewhere...

Couldn't help my self just earlier, went up to the vegie garden to pick some lettuce and herbs for lunch and couldn't help but notice these beautiful seed heads my leeks had sent up, during all the rain we've had...had to pick them and bring inside, what a beautiful sensuous shape, can see this being repeated in a work...

I just want to say a really BIG thankyou to you readers that have sent me the most positive and encouraging feed back regarding this blog...i only started this last week as a way of breaking the artists block ive had for a while, thinking who would want to look and read what thoughts i have or what im interested in, well how wrong i was...... i live in a very small country town in the Southern Tablelands of nsw,Australia...it is scenic and quiet..with the most amazing hidden gems of people..real people...I live here with my partner and my 2 little ones...( 5yrs and 18 months)..hence the artists block...trying to find that right balance as a wife, mother and artist can be quite trying..Anyway must start the day..have one off to school, that only takes about 5 miniutes, but usually about 15 as we walk past the apple tree's through the willows, between the 2 dams, where the ducks hang out, daydream, chat, chase dragonfly's then get him to school..a nice start to the day..now time to feed the animals..2 geese that i have a love hate relationship with, my wonderful indian runner ducks, my girls that keep us supplied with an infinite amount of free range eggs, our farm cats that keep the mice out of the sheds, 3 rascaly dogs, one peacock that is to blame for me making a coffee on many occasion and sitting and watching him in awe...the colours- indescribable..never tire of that..and the sheep.....more later..have a great day

Woke up this morning feeling so flat, probably in need of some sunshine, have had rain all week, which is great but..... anyway decided to go for a walk around our place with my camera as there was a window of sunshine between the clouds.. and funny how you can walk past things all every day and not completley notice the small details,well today i needed to do that and this is what i came up, i do have other pics on this blog from around our place but today i was in need of a little kick start.....love the colours....

spent last night experimenting with some different techniques to achieve texture, found the plaster interesting, this is just some playing around on some board, but with some more time and a large format ,i think it could be alright..anyway more later..need to go outside and get some kindling to light the open fire to take the chill out of the house..seems insane as it is the end of november..feed the chickens/chicks, ducks/ducklings, geese, peacock,dogs n cats..don't need to water vegetable garden as we've had alot of rain and about 20- 30 mm forecast today..at least the tanks/dams are full.....and hopefully later some play time for me in the studio...thank god it's friday..sleep in, strong coffee, lazy brekky.....mmmmm

Inside my house is my studio, in a room, off a room,to another room, most people don't realize it is there..the bonus of an old home is the at times random layout... it is quiet, large, loads of natural light and another door that leads out onto a grape vine covered verandha....as a mum with children, friends and generally a busy household, this is where i go to be me, to think, to write, to analyse, to create..more on this later..would love to see or hear about other artists studios...

a few hours of me time in the studio night, this work is an encaustic work, a medium ive been experimenting with for a few months now, i love the randomness of it, thinking the whole time ,this painting is not going in the direction im visualizing in my mind, then suddenly the image appears with what i had intended.the texture, the merging colours- "the rain".... interesting how listening to the rain on the tin roof last night ,all snuggled in, and subconsciously the work reflects the moment...

overcast,rain near,all quiet, open fire burning, cleaned up studio today,close to starting a new work, friends been and gone, lambs marked, one for the freezer,mmm thinking roast lamb shanks with home grown garlic picked yesterday,vegie garden growing..(,courgette,tomatoes,pumpkin,corn, beetroot,cucumber,artichoke,beans,tuscan kale,strawberries,raspberries,coriander,basil,mint,grapes,goosseberry,redcurrants,spring onion potatoes....).time for coffee,little one is asleep,bigger one watching a movie..off to some studio time......
